A flatbed semi-trailer is a freight trailer featuring an open, flat deck without side rails. Primarily connected to the tractor unit via a tractor pin coupling, it is designed for medium to long-haul transportation. The trailer utilizes a high-strength steel frame, providing exceptional load-bearing capacity to accommodate most cargo requirements. Equipped with standard features like 12.00R20 tires, it is ideally suited for transporting construction machinery, oversized equipment, and irregularly shaped goods. Key specifications, including tire type and number of axles, can be customized according to customer needs.

40T Flatbed Semi Trailer Tractor Pin Features

There are two specifications of the tractor pin, 2 inch and 3.5 inch. The 2-inch size is suitable for semi-trailers below 50 tons, while 3.5 inches is required for trailers above 50 tons. As an important component for connecting the semi-trailer and the tractor, the quality of the tractor pin is very important, which is directly related to whether the connection between the semi-trailer and the tractor is secure. There are two ways to connect the tractor pin, welded to the vehicle body and bolted. The welded type connection is more secure, but replacing the tractor pin requires cutting the frame, which is more troublesome. The bolt-on type is simpler to replace, but not as secure as the welded one. This vehicle uses a 2-inch welded tractor pin.
